Why We Keep Things Small (And Weird)

Why We Keep Things Small (And Weird)

There’s no big team behind Mung Bean.

It’s just the three of us (me, Kyle, and Noah) figuring things out one bean at a time. We design the characters, run the shop, tweak the site, and share new ideas on Discord. Everything on this site is something we’ve built ourselves by hand or mouse.

We did not start Mung Bean with a business plan or marketing goals. We just wanted to make things that felt a little odd, a little sweet, and hopefully worth a smile. This whole project is built around our original characters, drawn from scratch and printed on made to order apparel and accessories.

In my free time, I am usually working on the shop.
Sketching new designs. Adjusting layouts. Researching better print options. Fiddling with colors until something clicks. We experiment a lot. We try things, mess up, tweak them, and try again. It is a slow process, but it is fun.

We make everything to order because it is more sustainable and because we are still learning what people want. Every item is printed just for you. In 2025, we have had one order so far. Thank you, Philip Given (He's my boss at my main job). This happened after relaunching the site and getting back into it after a long break. Life happens.

We want to grow this into something more, but we want to do it in a way that feels true to us. We care about the little details. The niche jokes. The forest spirit energy. Mung Bean is not a mass-produced thing. It is a small indie brand that only exists because the three of us made it exactly like this.

So thanks for being here. If something we made- made you laugh, or feel seen, or slightly confused in a good way, that is exactly what we hoped for.
